The HP ProLiant DL1000 Multi Node Server is the first multi node DL server designed for higher density and increased power efficiency yet is flexible enough to be optimally configured for varying application requirements. The DL1000 supports up to four independent HP ProLiant DL170h G6 Servers in the 2U HP ProLiant h1000 G6 Chassis. The servers share power supplies and fans, providing greater power and cooling efficiencies. The HP ProLiant DL170h G6 Server is a two socket Intel server with 16 DDR3 DIMM slots. 

The DL1000 was designed to double the density to maximise data center floor space, increase performance while lowering energy consumption and provide flexible configurations that fit into existing industry standard racks. The DL170h G6 includes two Intel two processors with 16 DDR3 DIMM sockets.

The DL170h G6 provides all of the features expected in an enterprise server, including essential management features (LO100i) and Easy Setup CD for rapid deployment, but at a low cost. Highly flexible, the DL170h G6 has different drive cage, power supply and IO riser options that enable you to optimise the server for specific applications.

To give you an idea of the amount of power the ProLiant DL1000 can offer businesses, a fully configured 4-node model running virtualization such as Citrix XenServer or VMware ESX Server, can provide a "resource pool" consisting of 32 processor cores and 1TB of memory, all in a 2U chassis!
